Quality education for Escondido's future

Doug Paulson, a life-long Escondido resident, is an educational researcher, school board member, international education consultant, and a retired high school teacher with 30 years of experience at Orange Glen
and Valley High Schools.
He cares deeply for our community, our families, and our students.

We must improve our schools so that our students in EUSD Area 1 can reach their maximum potential. This means building programs that meet the needs of today's students—such as career-technical classes, trades, high-quality college prep, and technology-based offerings. It is essential that the high school and elementary districts work together to provide the best education possible, as advocated by Doug Paulson for School Board.

We must focus on the needs of today's students, and Doug Paulson for EUSD School Board Area 1 will get it done. Everyone needs to have strong communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and solid math skills. Students must also have an achievable life plan and the skills to execute that plan. This requires many experiences in career-technical areas.
Ultimately, it all means prioritizing student needs.
Our mission is to ensure every student thrives by improving academic outcomes, expanding high-quality Career Technical Education pathways, and supporting each learner’s personal growth and success. We are committed to strengthening articulation between our elementary and high school districts so students experience a seamless, coherent educational journey. We will utilize our community’s resources responsibly, maintaining long-term financial stability while investing wisely in programs that prepare students for college, career, and life.
We can improve our city by ensuring that Doug Paulson, as a member of the EUSD Area 1 School Board, supports collaboration between our high school and elementary districts to better prepare our children. We must also ensure that our students have access to both career-technical and college-prep opportunities while prioritizing their safety and security at school every day.
